Smooth braking score in chauffeur app

Why the Score Matters

A smooth and comfortable journey is one of the most important parts of the passenger experience.

Our data shows that chauffeurs with higher Smooth Braking Scores receive better passenger ratings and are more likely to have passengers return to the service. This can have a direct impact on your earnings over time.

That’s why we track driving smoothness and provide the Score in the app.

When We Measure Driving

The Score is calculated only during journeys when you are providing service to a passenger.

We do not evaluate your driving when you are offline, travelling to a pickup, or when not on a journey.

What We Measure

Driving Score focuses on one aspect of driving: harsh braking.

Using motion data collected from your phone’s sensors, we analyse vehicle movement during journeys and identify braking events that may feel uncomfortable for passengers. To do this, we use information such as: Vehicle speed, Acceleration and deceleration, geo data.

The goal is not to measure how fast you drive, but how smoothly you drive.

A higher score indicates smoother driving and a more comfortable passenger experience.

How the Score Is Calculated

Your Driving Score is based on your most recent 25 completed journeys.

This means:

  • Improvements may not appear immediately after a single journey.

  • As older journeys are replaced by newer ones, your score will gradually update.

  • Chauffeurs who complete journeys regularly may see changes more quickly.

How to Improve Your Score

Small adjustments can make a noticeable difference for passengers. Please focus on:

  • Keep a 3-second gap from the car ahead so you can slow down gradually. Double it in wet conditions.

  • Slow down by easing off the accelerator, not by braking.

  • Try anticipate traffic lights and start slowing down earlier.

  • Watch for pedestrians and cyclists near crossings and side streets to avoid sudden braking.
